Paint and Pour Watercolor Workshop
In this workshop you’ll be painting an image traced from a photo you provide.
Choose one of four floral scents for your candle.
Flower pictures correlate with scents for candles.

• Paint and Pour:
Unwind and unleash your creativity in this relaxing, pressure-free workshop. Start by crafting your own personalized candle, choosing from one of four floral scents. Next, paint a beautiful flower outline that complements your chosen scent. If time permits, a custom label will be made for your candle using your own artwork.

Observational Sketch and Watercolor Class for Beginners
In this workshop you’ll be painting an image traced from a photo you provide.

Join me on Saturday, March 8th from 1:00-3:30pm at the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library for a 2.5 hour beginner sketch and watercolor workshop!
class cost: $20 (Includes all supplies (which you get to keep!), a 2.5 hour class, and individual instruction as you need help.

• Observational Sketch and Watercolor Class for Beginners:
I teach tools and techniques rather than give step-by-step directions so the content you choose to paint is very open. I encourage students to make their paintings truly their own by adding elements and colors of their choosing, even if they don't directly reflect the source material.
Don’t worry. I’ll teach you how to break things down and give you the tools and techniques you need to have confidence in your artistic abilities!
No experience is needed! I’ll guide you through the steps and teach techniques that will help you capture the essence of the subject.
I’ve had a lot of students who think that they don’t have any artistic talent and say they ‘can only draw stick figures’ take the class and they’ve all walked away surprised at what they were able to create!
I will have several reference images available to choose from but feel free to bring an image of something you’d like to paint.
Images students have painted include pets, family members, houses, vacation locations, and landscapes.
Open to all ages who can follow instruction.
Come relaxed and bring a friend! The idea behind the class is to loosen up, have fun, learn techniques that will help you develop your own style and see the world in a new way!

Sometimes, it’s nice to take a break from the daily grind and do something that just lets you relax and have fun. On Monday, January 21st, from 6:00–8:00pm, I’m hosting a casual, no-pressure sketch and watercolor class at my studio, Holmes Watercolors, and I’d love for you to join!
This isn’t about perfecting a masterpiece or turning you into an artist overnight—it’s about taking a moment to slow down and enjoy the process of creating. Whether you’ve never picked up a brush before or haven’t drawn in years, the goal is to just let go and have fun with the colors and textures.
We’ll explore some easy techniques to make watercolor feel intuitive, and I’ll show you how to break things down into simple steps. No need to worry about making it "right"—just experiment with shapes, colors, and whatever feels fun to you!
I’ll have plenty of reference images to choose from if you want inspiration, or feel free to bring your own—a pet, a favorite vacation spot, or something else that speaks to you.
